Like a few of my colleagues here at Elliot Oliver I was in hospitality for most of my career. I spent 15 years in hospitality, most of it at the same hotel and I just felt that I was ready to take on a new challenge and explore newer opportunities.
I’m a property manager at Elliot Oliver now and I’m really enjoying it and being part of an amazing team. I’m also enjoying building relationships with tenants and landlords and also having more of a work-life balance than I’ve ever had before!
Working in property management means I’m still using a lot of skills which I gained from my hospitality career. A great property manager is someone who can put themselves in another person’s shoes and who can also prioritise tasks and cases well. When you’re dealing with lots of different people with different needs, you have to work out who needs attention first.
My family live in Gloucestershire. My mum and dad still live in Tewkesbury and I now live in Bishops Cleeve together with my partner. We both love socialising in Cheltenham, especially in the Brewery Quarter as it’s so vibrant and I like my food. I’m also a bit of a petrolhead – I love cars and really enjoy working and maintaining my own motor, as well as getting away for weekend breaks now and again.
My ideal tenant would be one of the big Ibiza DJs – I listen to a lot of music – and I’d love to be the one to rent out a luxury penthouse to them. This might have to be abroad though, to make sure they caught all the sun and didn’t have to travel too far to work!
I’m definitely a loyal one and in it for the long term with Elliot Oliver – I’m always aiming to improve and to work my way up and my new role here offers me lots of opportunities for my future progression.
