Moving to a new town or city can be quite a daunting experience, especially if you’re leaving friends and family behind. One great way to get out and meet new people is to go on the four-legged charm offensive (that means bringing your dog along…) as they’re a guaranteed conversation starter.
Here’s three of Cheltenham’s best dog-friendly venues, so clip on that lead, pocket some treats and head out for some fun with your best pal.
Coffee Dispensary, 18 Regent Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1HN
This cafe is well known for welcoming dogs from puppyhood to veteran, so you can be certain that you and your chum will feel right at home. In addition to this, Coffee Dispensary brews up what many people think of as the best coffee in town, as well as some amazing hot chocolate options and delicious cakes.
The Horsebox at Ellenborough Park, Southam Ln, Cheltenham GL52 3NJ
The Horsebox Brasserie is located on the ground floor of Ellenborough Park’s main house, just next to the Atrium. It offers visitors some hearty, well-cooked pub classics and a warm atmosphere. There’s also a hotel and spa at Ellenborough Park where you can take a Pawfect Break (for you and your dog) or just chill out in the restaurant – check out the social doggie menu, too!
The Grape Escape Wine Bar & Merchant, 15, Regent Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1HE
It really does seem that dogs are treated like royalty along Regent Street in Cheltenham! This wine bar has a massive selection of wines and if you go in with your pooch you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome, great advice on wine and a sneaky treat or few for your furry friend.
Another great feature about The Grape Escape is that you can bring in a takeaway to eat with one of their bottles of wine – they’ll even give you cutlery!
