If you’re considering a move to Cheltenham then this month offers you the chance to get a feel for the town from a unique vantage point – The Cheltenham Observation Wheel.
This 35-metre high structure is returning to Cheltenham’s Imperial Gardens from Saturday February 4 to Sunday February 26 – perfect timing for the half term holiday! Brave (and even not-so-brave) souls can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the town and its Regency delights during the ten-minute ride.
The wheel, hosted by Cheltenham BID, revolves three times each ride so its passengers have a few chances to take in the views and maybe even spot their ideal home from afar.
A wheelcome (ahem) return after two years
The observation wheel made its debut as part of Light Up Cheltenham in 2019, returning in 2020 but staying away in 2021 and 2022 due to covid restrictions.
This year, however, it’s back to light up the Imperial Gardens and there’s also an illuminated heart-shaped arch for couples to celebrate and take Valentine’s Day selfies under. The arch will stay from Friday February 10 to Monday February 20, so there’s plenty of time to get Insta-ready.
It’ll be popular, so make sure you book your tickets to ride
Head here to buy your Cheltenham Observation Wheel tickets.
Adult tickets are £7.00 each and children under 1.4 metres in height can ride for £5.00. Family tickets are £20.00 and are for one adult and three children under 1.4 metres in height or two adults and two children under 1.4 metres.
The wheel is operating from 4.00pm to 9.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 4.00pm to 9.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. During half term these hours are extended to between 12.00pm and 9.00pm for extra fun.
