Making the Most of Christmas in Cheltenham

Once you’ve polished off all the chocolates and waved goodbye to your last lingering relative, you might start wondering what to do with yourselves. There’s not much on the TV, you need to work off all those mince pies and the kids are getting restless…

Thankfully, Christmas in Cheltenham doesn’t end at 11.59pm on Boxing Day as there’s plenty to do to keep you and your children occupied until after New Year. Here’s our pick of the best Christmas, Betwixtmas and early January events.

Oh yes it is…

…a pantomime, that is. Until January 8 2023, The Everyman Theatre at 7-10 Regent Street in Cheltenham is home to Dick Whittington and his cat, Tweedy as they take on the villainous King Rat and seek their fortunes in London. Call the theatre box office on 01242 572573 to find out more and to book tickets.

Follow the lights

Cotswold Farm Park’s Enchanted Light Trail returns for 2022! Come along and enjoy the winter transformation while exploring the illuminated woodland, barns and paddocks.
The animals at Farm Park are reporting storage sounds and happenings, so follow the trail and help them to solve these mysteries. You can feed the animals a bedtime snack before they go to sleep and then head to the Frozen Palace Ball for a dance and a marshmallow – just take care to stay out of the Witches’ lair!

Head for the Nutcracker trail

Cheltenham BID is inviting everyone to follow the Nutcracker Trail for the chance to win a £100 voucher. You can either download a trail map or pick one up at Barclay’s Bank, The Entertainer, The Wilson Art Gallery or Hollywood Bowl. Once you have your map, follow it to find all ten Nutcracker Kings and write their names on the sheet, before posting your completed trail map in the postbox on Regent Arcade.
