Meet the Lettings Team

about_bg

Look forward to working with only the best, most enthusiastic and dedicated property professionals at Elliot Oliver. We’re always here to help you sell or let your property – with more than 30 years’ combined industry experience!

Our goal is to give you an exceptionally high standard of personal service that achieves fast and efficient results for you as an individual. We take pressure off you during home moves or property refurbishments – and help you get more from your property.

Oliver

Oliver

I’m Oliver Bishop, founder and driving force at Elliot Oliver. I’m passionate about property and obsessive about attention to detail – especially when your property dream is involved. I lead and support my team strongly as they deliver the bespoke service you deserve. My mantra? ‘Take care of clients; treat everyone as individuals’ – from property’s high-flyers to the despairing tenant I once talked back from the brink.

My background? Five years’ managerial and directorial roles in Cheltenham and Birmingham agencies before starting Elliot Oliver. Managing an Iranian businessman’s 200-plus properties. Nine years’ senior and area management for Lidl and Tesco. And being a buy-to-let landlord since 2004. That’s the experience at your disposal.

I’m hands on and rarely switch off. Home means emailing clients and checking markets. And ‘9 to 5’ means leading from the front: overseeing the business, planning strategy, looking after the team and running the projects that keep us ahead of the competition. Above all, making sure you enjoy an exceptional property service.

It’s not all work. R&R is about quality family time with Jade, our two daughters, family and friends, Lady Antebellum or Andrea Bocelli on Play, UFC martial arts on TV, cars, interior design and revitalising travel when time allows.

Phil

Phil

I’m Phil, associate director, runner with several London Marathon finishes and crazy about music. I still play piano semi-professionally too. My influences include Coldplay, alt rock and – guilty pleasure alert – 80s pop. Bowie’s a hero and Blackstar is still in the car – even if it isn’t the Rolls-Royce I think should promote the business!

I’ll get a buzz matching you and your ideal property, especially if it’s not what you originally envisaged. Alongside integrity, service and classy properties, that’s what we do. Despite my pre-Elliot Oliver retail background, I don’t consider myself a ‘salesperson’. As a buy-to-let landlord myself, I really can relate to your letting requirements. My priority is always to give the best service and advice to help you make top dollar from your rental property.

I love Cheltenham and the Cotswolds, particularly the amazing range of property – from Regency mansions to entry-level gems awaiting discovery if only you know where to look.

There’s virtually nothing – legal and decent of course – that I won’t do to help you. I’m still constantly reminded of the client who was so thrilled by my efforts to pull the perfect rental ‘from the hat’ that she gave me her house-trained rabbit – it was a ‘no pets’ house. Though Ted’s long gone to the big ‘Watership Down’ in the sky, Elphaba and Simba have now taken his place.

Georgy

Georgy

Handling accounts, HR and all manner of office management for our vibrant team takes calmness, customer focus, integrity and loads of property experience. That’s me, Georgy!

Years in sales and lettings accounting means you’re in confident hands for bills and payments, compliance and advice. My eyes are on every penny of rents and deposits. Count on me to be calm and meticulous with all aspects of admin, training and support for the team – everything from emptying the bins to helping with business-critical projects.

A passion for pole, aerial silks and aerial sling renews me after another day with a successful property agency. And when I’m not emulating Charlize Theron in the Dior ad, I’m probably sweating under heavy weights or in boxing gloves – or cleaning up after my boys while trying to remember to find time to stretch!

Nothing fazes me – not even tricky numbers or stuck lifts! Thinking on my feet and handling the unexpected probably comes from growing up in an army family! As does seeing different perspectives, knowing when to speak – or keep quiet – and always keeping promises.

Meeting lovely people, achieving deadlines and giving great service to customers and our team make my perfect day. Actually, complete perfection would be an Aston Martin DB9 – to match our sleek professionalism – to drive home while unwinding with Radio 1 and celebrating another day at Cheltenham’s best property agency! Oliver, about that DB9?

jordan

Jordan

As well as a mixed bag of sales and letting work, I look after our property marketing and social media – which I really enjoy. And, of course, as well as my property experience, I still draw on the lessons I learned working front-of-house in a stylish Cotswolds hotel and managing a busy Cheltenham coffee shop before joining the team.

As a lifelong Arsenal fan, I can hold my own with my sportiest colleagues. Teamwork’s my thing – and hating to see unhappy clients. Being in hospitality gave me loads of opportunities to use my initiative to help customers: a wedding anniversary couple whose booking was mislaid; a single-mum with two boisterous toddlers. Sorted! I’ll do the same for you – planning so things go smoothly; updating everyone; treating you as I’d want to be treated; and never promising what I can’t deliver, even though I don’t like saying no!

More about me? I love Drake’s music and I’m going to buck the trend and nominate an animal, not a car, to represent Elliot Oliver. How about a lion? My favourite film’s The Lion King – a classy, noticeable, show-stopper like Elliot Oliver!

And something the team doesn’t know about me? I once travelled independently in Thailand for a month with nothing booked. But I’ll be infinitely better organised when I help you. Promise!

Nicki

Previous careers in teaching and event co-ordination equip me perfectly as Lettings Co-ordinator. Both drew on my personality, organisational skills and ability to work effectively with different people – that’s lettings!

My guiding business philosophy? ‘The answer’s yes; what’s your question?’ And confidently handling whatever comes up – like a bride falling ill at her reception, visiting hospital, then returning at 11 pm for her first dance! Or teaching a five-year-old to talk (yes, really). It’s character forming. Finding your dream let won’t faze me.

Unwinding with squash brings out the determination I’ll bring to your property search. Music? Foxes, Kwabs or Young Guns depending on mood. I’ve a passion for Mexican food and writing poetry too – maybe this profile should be in Haiku! Imagine! Everything I’ll do for you in three lines? Or not; there’s so much to say.

nd my biggest career lesson? It’s something else that’s perfect for property – listening to my instincts about what’s right for you. Trust me; I’ve got your best interests at heart. That’s the Elliot Oliver way, which brings me to our new (dream) mascot. How about a West Highland Terrier? Lovely to have around and engage with – like our team!

Phoebe

Full disclosure, I’m a petrolhead, with Italian blood in my veins. But a lime green-grey Elliot Oliver Ferrari would just be wrong. So please could we have an Aston Martin – with classic Robbie Williams on the stereo! BTW, despite loving F1 since childhood, it’s Red Bull and Mercedes that I currently cheer on! Well, mostly…!

Back to property reality. After years at letting’s sharp-end, I’ve found my way to Gloucestershire’s top team. My special talents? I’m told they include an ability to make every client feel super-special and my reassuring ‘lawyer’s eye’ for contract detail.

Customer service is everything! From delivering healthy babies on a long-ago midwifery trial in the Dominican Republic to our meeting tomorrow, my approach is unwavering. Whether for a £5k per month let or your first flat, I treat everyone equally.

After hours, I’m a passionate foodie. Nothing beats Mum’s delicious pasta and its evocation of my sun-kissed Latin ancestry. Mamma mia! I can eat it five days a week – and sometimes do! And, yes, my dream property’s a huge Tuscan villa.

What’s my top tip for buy-to-let landlords? Don’t go too niche; make the place irresistible to tenants, not just to your taste!

So, whether you’re an experienced landlord or cautious first time tenant, let’s talk letting!

Karolina

Hi! Cześć! I’m Karolina, property manager, Jess Glynne fan, no sports allegiance and I melt around animals!

Whether in English or Polski, I mean business – and love being part of our professional, competitive and refreshing approach to property as I help tenants once they’ve moved into their new home.

I take no nonsense, especially from myself! No-one’s tougher on me than me; I’m always pushing to exceed expectations, keep you updated and make you feel special. I love leaving people saying ‘Wow!’

Impossible? Can’t? I don’t know the meaning of the words. I’ll ask ‘how?’, or for colleagues’ help, but if something’s in my power to do for you, I’ll find a way. Yes, I’m a ‘bit’ determined as you understated Brits say. Detail minded too; an efficiency and customer service perfectionist. It’s served me well in property. I love every minute; the variety of Cheltenham homes and the lovely people – like you…

I’m not ‘Duracell Bunny’ all the time; I balance professional drive with approachability and patience. And relaxation at evenings and weekends with my lovely hubby, gorgeous kids and puppy as we walk Leckhampton Hill, make authentic bigos or dream about American monster trucks. Oliver, could we have one in company colours please?

Sara

Think Italian style and personality, hospitality and property experience, and passion for property-management admin.

I’m Sara, as crazy – in a good way – as the rest of our team! I used to play volleyball, still follow the Italian league and, naturally, support Italy’s gli Azzurri footballers in football’s World Cup. I’m a secret songstress too. I love singing along to Paramore, my favourite band.

Since first managing student lets, property’s fascinated me. Elliot Oliver takes that to another level – the perfect role for my personality and office skills. I love crushing paperwork as much as I adore Margherita pizza and Aperol Spritzers on relaxed Sardinian evenings. Salute!

Though I miss Italy, my dream property is a sky-scraping apartment – with infinity pool – on Australia’s Gold Coast. And a celebrity property deal in Cheltenham? I’d choose a luxury penthouse for Paramore’s Hayley Williams – conveniently close to me for impromptu singalong invites!

I can have a superpower to help my property career? Wow! Mind-reading ability please! Elliot Oliver prides itself on understanding your needs, but imagine knowing exactly what you’re thinking! You’re smiling. That’s good! I say, smiles go a long way. Be kind, understanding and smile. Clients love it.

Visit us soon; I can’t promise an Aperol Spritz, but I guarantee a welcome that’s warm as those balmy Mediterranean evenings….

What excites me most about working for Elliot Oliver? How about bringing clients’ property dreams true, indulging a lifelong interest in property, being part of a fantastic team and meeting wonderful people every day?

It’s the perfect role for my experience in marketing and property – including doing up several of my own properties. My obsessive eye for detail gets full rein too. And I love helping people; it’s my guiding light in business. Listen carefully (no, really listen) to their needs, then get them where they want to be on the property ladder.

My dream client and property combo? How about Thor – actor Chris Hemsworth – and a big old Cotswold bolthole with all the amenities? OMG! We might meet him while out walking Buddy, our gorgeous rescued Jack Russell. He’s one of my favourite ways to relax after a busy day’s viewings and inspections – along with following my boys’ sporting activities. My favourite team? Theirs, of course!

Actually, Buddy, would make a great Elliot Oliver mascot. He’d love riding around Gloucestershire in the perfect Elliot Oliver vehicle. Forget classy Bentleys and competition-crushing monster trucks, it’s got to be our nippy little Mini. Like Buddy – and Elliot Oliver – it gets in everywhere!

Franz

Picture my extensive customer service experience in personal grooming and hospitality. Now imagine my attention to detail, honesty and transparency – and a passion for the spreadsheets that keep everything organised.

I love learning and I’m revelling in applying my skills and experience to property. Experience shows that kindness holds solutions to most challenges. But first I listen and understand.

After hours, I enjoy performance art, both on-stage and behind the scenes. I love music, with a special fondness for the super-talented Novo Amor. And food, especially Mum’s Spaghetti Bolognese. It’s the best!

I spend most of my working day in our office. If I could go selling, I’d find another of my musical heroes – Bette Midler – a character-packed Cotswold cottage. Of course, there’d be roses around the door for the chanteuse who wowed us with ‘The Rose’!

My dream property? Forget Alpine chalets or tropical beachfront homes. I’d like a ‘tiny house’ up north in England or Scotland. The minimalist tiny-house movement fascinates me. I generally prefer simple and understated – but super-sophisticated spreadsheets!

What struck me most when I first visited Elliot Oliver was the positive vibe and lovely team. Look forward to our unique welcome when you call or visit. And if I get my way, maybe there’ll be an Elliot Oliver Pomeranian here too! I just love them!

Jessica

Jessica

Before coming to Elliot Oliver I’d worked in lots of roles at a large supermarket chain so I’m very much a people person who also enjoys a fast paced workplace. This makes my role as property management administrator perfect for me as there’s always something going on!

Having rented properties myself over the years I know what makes a good property and a good letting agent and how important a nice home is to a tenant. Property is something I’ve always been interested in, so when a friend told me about the role at Elliot Oliver I jumped at it and it was as if it had been there waiting for me!

To be a great letting agent you need to put your tenants and landlords at the forefront of everything you do. They do make the business, after all!

You should look after a landlord’s property as if it’s your own and always put yourself in the tenant’s position so that everyone’s best interests are met. Working in lettings is about people’s homes – whether you’re the landlord or the tenant – and so you need to have a lot of empathy for people.

When I’m not at work I love to be with my two children and my husband. We all love long walks in the woods around Cheltenham (maybe we should borrow a dog!) and long weekends away in the Lake District. I do enjoy the occasional Prosecco and my trampoline classes, although not at the same time, I might add.

My ideal tenant would be singer Taylor Swift. I love her music and I can see her looking for a big, fairly modern, house somewhere in the hills around Cheltenham, maybe Leckhampton Hill. With any luck, she’d let me sing around the house with her, which would be a dream come true.

Kirsty

I love getting behind so many Gloucestershire property doors – and getting paid for it! Working with the cream of the county’s homes goes perfectly with the professional eye for detail and customer service that served me so well during my previous motorcycle industry career.

Though I love riding pillion on powerful bikes, property was always my secret love. Now it’s my life and I’m where I’m meant to be. It’s the perfect sector for my obsession with communication and detail, and my passion for supporting clients and colleagues. They’re what drive me every day with the energy of my favourite Arctic Monkeys tracks.

Now to something most people don’t know about me! I’m ranidaphobic! Mice? No problem, but frogs? No-thank-you! That said, I love animals, ranging from Kenyan safari wildlife to my little ‘fur baby’, the snuggliest ginger Staffie you’ll ever meet. Her name’s Lola. And, yes, she’s a showgirl!

Back to work and my top tip for tenants. Always hire professional cleaners. Trust me, you can’t match their standards. It’ll make your checkout so much easier.

I’m allowed a property superpower? Amazing! How about magic clicky heels for instant Dorothy-style moves between properties? And afterwards, to the nearest tapas bar for treats with family and friends. It’s my favourite food – especially when the sun’s shining!

Retail was yesterday; now I’m accounts admin here and love the challenge. I may be the bubbly, personality-packed bringer of ice-breaking jokes but I match my outgoing nature with unwavering professionalism and an eye for detail and co ordination that was just made for accounting.

Alongside always treating clients as I’d want to be treated, I won’t be the first of our team to say that honesty is my compass. Whether looking after your interests or chasing shoplifters when I worked in retail, honesty has a bearing on everything in business.

Unwinding after a busy day looking after clients. I love chilling with some classic old-school music and a big glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I’ve recently got into F1 too; Lewis Hamilton is great, but I must admit to a soft-spot for Max Verstappen as well…

Now there’s a promotional idea. Showing our colours around Cheltenham is good, but how about thinking really big with global F1 sponsorship on a Mercedes or Red Bull next year?…

Angela

Firstly, if I could shout from the page I’d yell, ‘Call us! We’re worth it!’ Why? Because of the focus on integrity, results and treating people with respect that drew me to Elliot Oliver.

Like all the team, I never tire of Cheltenham’s diverse property – and meeting clients’ varied needs. I don’t presume anything. And I understand how the difference between just hearing and really listening means everything.

Now, let’s get the obligatory company vehicle question done: a Scooby-Doo ‘Mystery Machine Van’ in lime green and grey please, practical but fun – electric of course. Jinkies!

Must I describe myself in three words? Okay, how about tenacity with humour whether doing routine end-of-let checks or rescuing a pigeon that crashed through a window during a viewing! I’m told I’m a MAD person. I ‘Make a Difference’ – for pigeons, the vulnerable tenant I mental-health-checked during lockdown or you! I’m also a qualified cellar manager for traditional ales…

Which leads to my interests. You’re most likely to find me spending my down time reading or listening to music, anything from Classic FM to AC/DC or cheering on Scottish Rugby. And before you ask, my ‘desert island’ book is Pride & Prejudice.

Although I’ve got a background in event management and interior design, property is my first love and so my role as property manager at Elliot Oliver is a natural step for me. It’s a lively, fast-moving office here and so I fit in! I’m really enthusiastic about my role here and I’m looking forward to my journey with Elliot Oliver.

To be successful in property management you must be able to balance the needs of the landlord and those of the tenants. You’re the interface for both parties and working out a solution that keeps landlord and tenant happy is quite a balancing act, but it’s also a very enjoyable one. Having a good sense of humour and great communication skills is also very important.

Working in Cheltenham is ideal for me as the town has such beautiful architecture and there are some stunning properties here. It’s quite a change from one of my previous roles – managing outdoor events in South Africa – as this job involved checking venues for rhinos and other animals before we started work!

Outside of Elliot Oliver my life is pretty lively too. I go to the gym a lot, where I swim, meet friends and even manage to relax a bit! I also love to go on walks with friends, travel whenever possible and get out and about to lots of events and activities. Asian food is a big favourite of mine and so I’m always trying out new dishes at home.

My ideal landlord is someone who’s relaxed and lets you do your job. I’d have loved to manage property for someone like the late Lord Bath as he was very eccentric and would have made me laugh a lot. His Longleat Estate was famous for wild parties and so I’d have been able to do some celeb spotting while I worked!

Hannah

Hannah

Although my background is in retail management and healthcare I’ve always had a keen eye for property and after remodeling our house recently I realised it was time to move into my dream career with Elliot Oliver.

I’m a very organised person and I pay a lot of attention to detail so my role as inventory clerk is ideal for me, especially as I’ll get to go out and see all the amazing rental properties on offer!

Working in lettings isn’t just about inventories and details, though; it’s about people. Our clients and tenants are at the heart of everything we do and so it’s vital to get to know them and their needs so we can match them with their ideal property. It’s also vital to be honest, too, so that each tenant is happy in their home from the start.

Speaking of ideal tenants and properties, my perfect tenant would be Jamie Dornan, also known as Christian Grey. I can imagine showing him around a really impressive property with some land, such as a country estate or a mansion.

Whatever the property is, it would have to have an amazing feature such as a huge sweeping staircase at the centre. You can always hope…

When I’m not working I spend time with my husband and two children, as well as working on my hobby, which is expressive dancing. I do modern jive and ceroc, which is a blend of many different styles and I also travel to dance competitions around the UK.

Tyeisha

Tyeisha

I’m a real people person and before starting at Elliot Oliver I worked in customer service roles and also in several bars so I know how important it is to be friendly and welcoming to customers and clients. This experience, as well as studying business at college, helps me in my role as property consultant at Elliot Oliver.

When you work in lettings, you need to be able to talk to people as well as listen to them, whether they’re a landlord or a tenant. You need to make people feel comfortable and let them know they can come to you with any questions.

It’s also important to have a good eye for detail in the property business, especially if you’re inspecting rentals, which is part of my job too.

Property has always been a big love of mine and it’s something I’ve always been interested in and a field I’ve always wanted to work in. Coming to Elliot Oliver has given me the chance to learn more about the property and lettings industry and I can’t wait to get more experience within it.

I’m almost always busy, but when I do get some downtime I love to spend time with my family. We all enjoy cooking – Italian and Caribbean food is our speciality – so that’s a big feature in my life and there’s nothing better than relaxing in the kitchen after a hard day’s work.

Another passion of mine is music and I’m planning to learn how to DJ. Who knows, this might help me to bring in some really interesting tenants in the future!

Sarah Glazzard

Sarah Glazzard

For most of my working life I’ve been in hospitality, running pubs, restaurants and hotels so I’m certainly a people person. I was in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years and was looking for a change when a chance meeting on a cruise made me realise that property was ideal for me!

I’m a property manager at Elliot Oliver and while this is different from running a restaurant, I’m using the people skills I developed in my earlier career. To be a good property manager you need lots of empathy and an ability to see both sides of a situation. You also need to be ready to deal with things you might not have come across before, while still keeping both the landlord and the tenant happy.

I’m fairly new to Cheltenham, but I’m getting to know the town and it’s great to be able to try out all the pubs and restaurants it has to offer. It’s fun to be on the other side of things and to enjoy some leisure time in a lovely environment.

My ideal letting would be an enormous barn in the middle of nowhere and I’d let it to a big rock star like Freddie Mercury so he could make loads of noise as he writes his next classic album. Hopefully I’d be able to have a go on some of the instruments, too!

When I’m not managing properties and learning more about the industry, I’m playing my own musical instruments. I didn’t have much time for music in my previous career, but now I’m getting back into it – I play the piano and keyboard, as well as the saxophone and violin. I’m also a keen gamer and my partner and I travel a lot. We’ve been to China and the US recently, with many more trips planned for the future.

Tom Webb

Tom Webb

I’m a lettings administrator at Elliot Oliver and before I started in this role I’d worked in recruitment and also in the fitness industry, as well as in insurance. My move to the property business was a natural progression for me as I wanted to find an inspiring industry that offered me more of a career structure.

My role as a lettings administrator allows me to use the people and organisational skills I’ve gained over the years. I’m very extroverted and I’m 100% focused on the customer experience. It’s vital to maintain a calm and clear head when organising lots of viewings as it can get very busy and every client is looking for something different. It’s also very important to bear in mind what people are looking for so you don’t send them along to view a property that’s not 100% right for them.

My ideal tenant is someone who’s making a big life change by moving into one of our properties. It might be that they’re moving into a bigger place, or moving to Cheltenham to start a new job, but being a small part of someone’s major life event is always very satisfying. When it comes to the ideal property for me to let out, it has to be the bigger the better, of course! You always dream of something lavish – a property that you don’t see everyday.

Outside of work, you can often find me walking around Cleeve Hill and Dowdeswell Reservoir with my wife and our chow chow dog Florence. I also go to the gym a lot and I’m a big sports fan, having played a lot of football in the past.

Of course, it’s great living in Cheltenham, but we also like to travel and in recent years we’ve been to Bali and New York, as well as on city breaks in Europe and we’ve got some more European trips planned for the next year or so.
